Presidential Fellowship (Summer 2021)
The Office of the President is currently seeking curious, motivated, and engaged student applicants for its Presidential Fellowship Program. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to apply. The ideal candidate is passionate about the college and wants to better understand research, development, and planning in higher education. The role requires students to conduct interviews with Dickinson’s alumni population in summer 2021. Interviews will be virtual with an opportunity for students to conduct in-person meetings if deemed safe and appropriate by the college. Using a designed questionnaire, students will note and evaluate the engagement of alumni in various geographic areas.
Students are assigned alumni interviewees, and if any in-person interviews are conducted, they may require students to travel beyond their immediate location. All reasonable travel accommodations and needs required for this position are covered by the college for those selected to participate. This does not include summer housing or costs not directly related to interviewing alumni.
The program is looking to hire for full-time summer positions, an estimated 25-40 hours per week. All applicants are paid a competitive salary of $12 an hour for up to 40 hours of work each week and are eligible for bonuses based on outstanding performance. Fellowship funding is contingent upon successful completion of assigned tasks, training, and any other position requirements.
This position is an excellent opportunity to conduct research that will better inform Dickinson’s future strategic planning. It provides participating students with marketable skills in social science research, communications, and nonprofit development work. It also offers students the ability to network with and gain a greater understanding of Dickinson’s alumni community.
