Dson Connected: Virtual Supply Chain Internship

As he has for the past three years, Dickinson Trustee and ADC Holdings CEO Mark Lehman ’71 plans to hire a Dickinson student intern to work at his company Horizon Brands. This year the internships will be fully virtual, seven-week paid summer positions.

Supply Chain Internship

Internship Description

Our internship program is designed to create an environment of learning for the intern. Our program consists of two parts. The initial portion of the program includes completing some specialized projects within the student’s area of study. These projects are well defined and outlined with specific outcomes that allow the student to apply classroom knowledge in a real work environment. The second project will be a joint project with other interns enabling them to work as a cross functional group to solve a company issue of their choice.
 
Candidates must be available for 7 consecutive weeks during the summer months, dates to be determined.
 
Responsibilities
 
The Supply Chain Intern will be responsible for documenting the process of product movement from purchase order to availability of product to the customer. This role will also offer the opportunity to improve the current communication between departments, and also look for ways to improve the lead time for product availability to the end customer.  

Primary responsibilities include:

  • mapping the current process of product movement.
  • working with the Hong Kong Supply Chain department to identify improvement opportunities.
  • working with IT in understanding what information should be mapped from our freight forwarders to SAP.
  • Work on additional projects as needed.
 
Major
 
General Business, Business Management, Business Communications, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, or related field of study.
