Enterprise Knowledge (EK) is hiring a technical intern to join our world-leading Knowledge Management Consulting Practice for the summer of 2023. We have a diverse staff and a dynamic, collaborative workspace that provides numerous professional growth opportunities and incredible benefits!

We are seeking computer science, information systems, and other technology majors and minors who are independent thinkers with exceptional communication skills, both written and oral. This position demands excellent technical, leadership, and consulting skills.
The technical intern will receive on-the-job training and will assist with a wide range of technical projects internally and for domestic and international clients while being based in our office located in the Metro DC area. In the past, some of the projects our technical staff have assisted on include:
  • Working with the World Bank to develop a mobile app for use in water and sanitation projects in several developing countries;
  • Supporting the design and implementation of a chatbot for the Inter-American Development Bank; and
  • Developing a single, world-class knowledge and learning platform for the National Park Service, which connects NPS’ diverse users with the information they need and the people that support them.

At Enterprise Knowledge, we value our interns and work to promote their professional development during their time with us. While there is truly no “typical” day as an intern at EK, you will work closely with various EK staff members to on a wide array of projects, which may include: 
  • Work with interdisciplinary EK development teams to learn about technical delivery for KM products;
  • Observe client interactions through interviews, focus groups, workshops, and/or formal presentations;
  • Support data analysis, engineering, and tool optimization;
  • Analyze client content, data, and systems; and
  • Supporting developers on day-to-day work (including development, code reviews, and quality assurance, etc.).

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Rising Junior or Senior;
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, as well as working collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Coursework in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Science, or equivalent experience;
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and programming languages;
  • Foundational understanding of computing logic and a backend language (PHP, Python, .NET, Node); and
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

 Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proof of holistic coursework, demonstrating the ability to write, research, and communicate through a variety of means; and
  • Strong understanding of source code repository practices.
